Current Issues in Louisiana Construction Law

On July 27, 2018, Michael S. Blackwell and Laura E. Avery of Shields | Mott L.L.P. presented “Current Issues in Louisiana Construction Law” for the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America. The presentation focused on recent decisions in Louisiana, particularly the establishment of potential tort liability against construction managers and program managers on construction projects, and surveyed other important decisions, including several in which Shields | Mott L.L.P. was intimately involved, that are shaping the legal landscape for construction law in Louisiana, including the cases for Pierce and Gootee.  Michael and Laura also addressed public entities and current trends in Louisiana construction law.
